In pirket avot (sayings of our fathers), someone said the world stands on 3 things - torah, serving G-d, and kindness. After reading this, I asked Riva if she knew the things things the world stands on?
She said "Family, Friends and Food"
I said "Hmmm...that's a good one....here it said, 'Torah, serving G-d, and kindness'"
"But Dad," she interjected "That makes no sense. Without family, you be all alone. Without no friends, you be ignored and have nobody to play with, and with no food, you'd be dead"
With a little smile curling on my face, I said "Hmmm.....you make a very good point."
